About the Practice
This is a practice of deep rest
Students are gently guided towards the
release of unconsciously contracted energies within the physical and emotional body.
As the body and mind move into a deeper state of rest, healing can happen, and the true self begins to naturally experience a more open, gentle, and compassionate way of being.
What you'll need for the practice
I invite you to find a warm, quiet, comfortable space in your home, or wherever you will practise. I have had students join from their camper van while on holiday, and from a hotel in London while in 10 day quarantine!
The practice begins with an optional seated silent meditation.
Most students then begin the guided rest session lying on their backs on either a blanket or yoga mat, often with a pillow under the head and a blanket to cover the body. Some students lie down on sofas or beds. Some sit in comfortable chairs.
All are welcome to remain lying down for the entire guided portion of the practice. At certain moments I invite subtle movements, and towards the final minutes of the practice I invite a slow shift to a meditation seat. None of these movements are required.
Ultimately it is my intention for you to feel welcome within the experience of our time together and softly eased into peaceful awareness.
"Adelaide is a soulful, heartfelt guide into the practice of mindfulness, meditation and somatic yoga.
Her live classes are full of love and comfort and this translates beautifully through the online medium of Zoom into your own home/space. She talks her participants through a delightful, mindful session with minimal gentle movement if you want to move, and she encourages stillness if you don't. There is respect and a genuineness about all you hear and feel. My Monday evenings are all the better for Adelaide's sessions" - Gillian |
"I'm fortunate to have enjoyed this practice for many years now -- life made better by coming to a simpler place, gently guided by the intuitive angel, Adelaide."
- Pauline "I feel blessed to have been taught and guided by Adelaide for several years now, including weekly classes and short retreats.
Practice with Adelaide is gentle but explorative, calming yet energising, always joyful and inviting. A selfless and natural teacher you will be encouraged to connect with your stillness and pay attention with a wise and empathetic narrative that comes straight from the heart. This nourishing practice is the real deal." - Jane M. |
